Colmar France

It's so hard to pick a favorite day from our recent Europe trip. At the end of each day I would get so sad it was coming to an end, and I would think to myself, "This was the best day ever, how could it possible get any better?" And yet sure enough, the next day would be full of new adventures and excitement all it's own!

I loved day two with a fiery passion!

The second day Jordan and I headed to France. We had already rented our car online in France as opposed to Switzerland because everything is cheaper in France! Yan was sweet enough to get up early and drive us to the car rental at the airport. The airport is right on the France/ Swiss border, and  divided into French and German speaking. After we were dropped off we headed strait to the rental counter. Jordan started up a conversation in French with the woman behind the counter, and even though I had no clue what they were saying, after a few minutes, I could tell something was wrong. Jordan informed me that they did not have our reservation for our car. This was a problem because we had already paid for it online. After talking to the lady a bit longer Jordan figured out the problem. Yan had dropped us off (by accident) on the Swiss side of the airport. Like I previously said, the airport is litterally on the two countries borders, so the airport has two sides divided by a wall. The French side and the Swiss side.  Problem easily fixed! We had to leave the airport, walk around the wall and into France, ha! It was a hoot! Now we can say we walked from Switzerland to France;) Sure enough, the same rental car place (on the French side) had our reservation. Phew! After a few minutes we were given the keys to our cool European car, and we were off to Colmar!!

^^ On the way we had to stop at a  Boulangerie for fresh pain au chocolate, our favorite! ^^

^^ every corner we turned was prettier then the last^^

^^ happy windows everywhere!!^^

^ fish street ^

^ love churches filled with stained glass windows ^

^ I'm like a celebrity in France ;) ^

Oh Colmar how I love thee! The whole town has been preserved and you are instantly transported back in time, and with each corner you turn the sights just keep getting better and better. The best way to describe Colmar is this: Think of the village in the opening seen of Disneys Beauty and the Beast... you know..."little town, it's a quiet village"... We half expected people to pop out of those beautiful shuttered windows singing ..Bonjour!Bonjour!....Bonjour!, Bonjour!, Bonjour!...

And because I can't capture the city the way a professional can, click HERE to see better photos and swoon some more.

J'aime Colmar!!!!!!

The second part of our day we drove into Germany to visit the Harry Potter Castle....

To Be Continued......
