- I had strep throat for the first time in my life. I actually had it for about five days before I gave in to my stubbornness and went to the Doc. Just for the record, strep=no fun.
- The medicine they gave me for strep throat. It was disgusting and left the worst aftertaste. I hate pills.
- More sickness. After having just recovered from strep.. I was now curled up in a ball for two days with the worst pain of my life. We'll just chalk that one up to mother nature and leave it at that :)
- Being asked if I had an 18 year old daughter. This ones my favorite. While checking out at QT, the attendant kept looking at me, and then said, and I quote... "Do you have a daughter who's about eighteen and works at Oreganos? I just meet her the other day and you totally look like you can be her mom". I just glared at him and said, "Umm...no I am without child". To which he replied, "oh, well she could totally be your kid, you look so much alike". Let's just analyze this shall we. I'm thirty, ONLY thirty! If I had an eighteen year old I would have given birth at the wee age of twelve....but that is beside the point....do I honestly physically look like I could be the mother of an eighteen year old!!!! I wanted to sucker punch that attendant in the face. Why couldn't I have been the older sister of this said eighteen year old, or even an aunt, huh?! But no, he said mother. Silly boy, like totally!

- Mom and dad Herbert were in town for a visit. This means lots of fun family time, food, shopping, games, etc...
- Mom and dad Herbert went back to Cali. Hahaha... this seems contradicting I know. I love LOVE my in-laws, but when they are staying with you for five days, seeing them leave can be just as happy as having them come. Now my house is mine again, everything is in it's rightful place, things are a bit more peaceful, and we are once again free to walk around in our underwear...you know, all the important stuff ;)
- The Stig. I have the freakin' cutest bunny in all the land, but enough of him for now, he will get his own post soon.
- New work schedule. My mornings are completely free now which I am loving. Now the mister and I can go for morning swims and enjoy a nice breakfast together, it's been lovely!
- Guilty pleasures. I have a soft spot in my heart for techno music. Yes it's true. LOVE me some good techno, key word being good! This Song is currently on repeat in casa de herbert. That accordion is just the bomb! Also, techno is the music of choice when the mister and I have our dance parties for two in the house. We have surround sound...it's awesome!
Oh my..the things people say. But no WAY do you look like you could have a 18 year old daughter. Are you sure he wasn't trying to hit on you?? :) I also love when my in-laws visit..but it is nice to have your home back when they are gone! And I had strep throat in college. Then I had a reaction to the medicine they gave me, which added itching and the crazies. Hope all is well in your world again :)
ReplyDeleteStrep throat is THE WORST. I'm sorry you had those mixed with your lady problems.
ReplyDeleteAnd girl please, I know exactly what you mean by visitors leaving. My husband's grandma stays with us at least twice a month for her doctor's appointments in Mesa, and our bathroom is not connected to our bedroom. It's so hard to have to put clothes on every time I get out of the shower in the actual bathroom. AND WHY DON'T OLD PEOPLE SLEEP? She's up at 4am and in bed at 11pm, so there is no time for underwear time.
I love reading your blog.:> You make me smile. Side note... You are young and may I add beautiful.:> Silly boy.
