The start of a new year is so exciting for me. It fills my soul with hope, desire, and the thought of endless possibilities. In a sense, it makes me want to set the world on fire!

(in a good way)
I learned a lot in the past year, and while I know that the start of a new year doesn't magically make everything roses, I have learned to deal with things in stride. Having a better attitude works wonders. Sunday Jordan and I sat down and had a three hour talk about goals and what we want to accomplish as a family and as individuals. We each wrote them down, and talked about what we needed to do to make them a reality. As boring as this three hour talk may seem, I can say that it was probably one of my favorite conversations with my husband. And it filled my heart with the excitement that together Jordan and I can burn as bright as we want! It's a good feeling!
Some of my goals for 2012
- Put a baby in my belly. I know I don't have full control over this, but I will never give up and my attitude towards the situation has changed.
- Start filling out adoption papers
- Budget money better
- Get a job. As much as I wish I could just do my cake business, I have realized that it just isn't a reality at the moment. It was a hard pill to swallow. So let the job search begin, again :{
- Cook for my husband. I am spoiled, what can I say. But you know this is something that I have been wanting to work on for a while. Not because I am a woman and it's my job....don't even get me started on my feminist opinions on this. It's because I want to do more service. My husband works hard and I want to show him more that I appreciate all he does. And after two years of him cooking I think it's time for me to step up my game. Please feel free to share any of your favorite recipes... I have a feeling this goal might be a struggle for me :)
- Attended the temple more. Jordan and I pulled out a calendar and marked one day each month that we will go. So that's at least 12 times a year ( which is more than last year) This is an important goal for us!
- Continue to laugh. This we be easy for us, we think we are funnier then we probably are.
I love these goals! We are planning to do the same thing next week. (make goals, not do all those goals in a week haha)
ReplyDeleteAs for recipes I have some favorites that I will email you!
Great goals. Good luck! Prayers with you over the first two especially. :)

Yay! Goal setting is so much fun with the hubby. Love the goals. Like the timing with the new townhouse you are moving into (yay!), a baby will come at just the right time. I promise! And cooking is so much fun. Pinterest has some yummy recipes that are super easy and healthy. And if all else fails, we always eat tostadas or spaghetti (mostly because I know Kenadee will eat it!!).
ReplyDeleteAdoption is amazing and awesome. I helped families adopt through the foster care system for a few years before Bicho came along, so if you are planning on going that route, let me know if you have questions. Private adoption runs a little differently than state. Heavenly Father will send you a sweet little one some way or another!! :)
THank you for writing this. I appreciate it.
